The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) has inducted 206 new members, made up of 13 Fellows, 174 Members, and 19 Associates, at a ceremony held on July 24 at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The event officially welcomed the new members into the Institute and marked their commitment to ethical leadership, professional excellence, and sound corporate governance.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President and Chair of Council of IoD-Gh, Mrs. Mary Asare-Yeboah, FIoD, urged the inductees to uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and leadership to support Ghana’s economic transformation.
She stressed the importance of directors paying close attention to legal and regulatory matters within their organizations, noting that the role of a director comes with significant responsibilities.
According to her, directors must go beyond simply reviewing documents in board meetings and should critically examine issues, ask questions, and ensure that the right decisions are made.
